Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 1, 2026
Primary Technologies, Inc. ("Primary," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the Primary platform and services ("the Service").
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. You may also provide a phone number for SMS-based features and two-factor authentication.
Usage Data
We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, tasks created, and agent interactions. This data helps us improve the Service and provide support.
AI Interaction Data
When you interact with AI agents, we process the content of your messages and instructions. For local appliance users, this data is processed on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly opt in to cloud features. For cloud users, interaction data is processed on our secure servers.
Device Information
For appliance users, we collect device health metrics (CPU, memory, disk usage), software version, and network information to provide remote management and support.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Process your AI agent requests and execute tasks on your behalf
- Send you service-related communications (account verification, security alerts, billing)
- Monitor device health and provide remote support for appliance users
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your AI interaction content to train our models unless you explicitly opt in.
3. Data Storage and Security
Primary is built with a local-first architecture. For appliance users, your data -- including AI conversations, memories, files, and credentials -- is stored locally on your device and encrypted at rest. Data is only transmitted to our servers for features you explicitly enable (remote access, cloud backup, etc.).
For cloud users, your data is stored on secure servers with encryption at rest and in transit. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), access controls, and regular security audits.
Vault credentials are encrypted using AES-256-GCM with per-customer encryption keys and are never stored in plaintext.
4. AI and Machine Learning
Local Processing
For appliance users, AI inference runs locally on your device using open-source models. Your conversations and data remain on your hardware and are not sent to external AI providers. This is our default and recommended mode for maximum privacy.
Cloud Processing
Cloud users and appliance users who opt in to cloud features may have their AI requests processed on our cloud infrastructure. In these cases, data is transmitted securely and processed only for the purpose of fulfilling your request. We do not retain cloud-processed conversation data beyond what is needed to provide the Service.
5. Third-Party Services
The Service may integrate with third-party services at your direction, including email providers (Gmail, Outlook), calendar services, and communication platforms. When you connect a third-party service, we access only the data necessary to provide the requested functionality. We do not share your data with third parties except as necessary to provide the Service or as required by law.
Our infrastructure partners include cloud hosting providers and payment processors, each bound by data processing agreements.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Usage data and logs are retained for up to 12 months. AI conversation data retention depends on your configuration and tier. Upon account termination, we will make your data available for export for 30 days, after which it will be permanently deleted from our servers. Local appliance data remains on your device regardless of account status.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Delete: Request deletion of your account and associated data. Some data may be retained for legal or legitimate business purposes.
- Export: Export your data (memories, conversations, tasks, credentials) in standard formats at any time through your account settings.
- Correct: Update or correct inaccurate personal information through your account settings.
- Opt out: Disable telemetry and analytics through your privacy settings.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@primary.net.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@primary.net.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and, where possible, by email. The "Effective date" at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
